Hi,

I can't say that I've seen any good permanent antennas.. But I really haven't had any problems with either my XM or Sirius magnetic antennas that came with my players. The Sirius one (which I'm currently using) is giving a better signal though. The connectors for my XM and Sirius players are the same, so I was able to swap the antennas.

If you are adventurous, you may want to see what the connector on the Nitro's factory satellite antenna looks like (after market option.. don't know if they sell just the antenna though). I have seen this picture posted that shows the connectors, but unfortunately the angle is off, so you can't really see the exact shape. If that fits, you could use that, that would definately give the 'cleanest' look.. Or then again, maybe someone else already has and may be able to better answer this question.

Here's the pic of the connectors:

I couldn't find any pics of the factory satellite antenna, but someone probably has one on here.. Hopefully I helped a little.

I used the factory Sirius antenna with my aftermarket Clarion and Sirius unit with no problems... The antenna has a standard SMB connector on it.. you should be able to use it for XM although I don't know if Sirius uses the same antennas as XM.

Sirius/Xm Ant.

Sirius and Xm use different antennas even though the connector may work the individual antennas are tuned to recieve different (yet similar) signals. Using the opposite of your reciever will result in some signal loss.
Yes. XM makes an antenna that is almost flat and looks stealthy...Contact your local stereo shop Good Guys or? and you will see the many options they have.

I used my Sirius antenna for my XM radio for like 2 months because it gave a better signal. :D
I'm assuming that a Nitro that didn't come with Sirius (like mine) won't have the satellite antenna. Has anyone got the Mopar part number for the AM/FM/Sat antenna?
Does anyone know the part number for the AM/FM/SAT OEM antennae? Also would I need to run the cable through the headliner or is the SAT cable already to the radio and I just have to connect at the roof where the existing antennae is?

If you do not have Sat radio now. The antenna you have would have to be changed with a new one that has it built in. Which in turn you would have to run the cable from the antenna to the radio. And if your radio doesn't have the 2 antenna inputs it's a moot point anyway.
