Tuesday nitro 2007 over heated a little cooled down right when I put water… took it to mechanic and he said it was fan and it was my relay ….had that fixed and now that I have it back my gauge stays in cold and the red lightning bolt is on my dash board… my mechanic said fan is working and now just is continually running and only stops when it’s off… what can it be he thinking I might have to take it to electric shop to have it checked

The red lightning bolt is the electronic throttle body. Mine came on and i went to NAPA and got some throttle body cleaner for like $8, removed the throttle body and cleaned it. Put it back on and erased all codes. If you clean your throttle body make sure you do not spray it directly. I sprayed a tooth brush then lightly scrubbed all the build up off. You'll want to open the blade on it and support it (I used a screw driver) and clean the edges of the blade. When you go to close the blade do not let it pop back in place. Use your finger to slowly close it back. After cleaning use a lent free cloth (I used blue shop paper towels) to wipe it clean and dry. Also on one side of the throttle body you will see a black block. It contains the electrical components for the throttle body. Do not let it get soaking wet or you will have to buy a new one. As far as the temp gauge goes it could be the thermostat is stuck, a sensor is bad or unplugged, or a wiring issue. Unless anyone else has other ideas.
Thank you any idea why my fan continues to run and not stop and go?
