I dropped my car off at the dealership yesterday for an oil change. But I also asked them to check out a clicking sound that I've heard for the last month or two. It only happens on start up and it's a steady clicking sound, but it goes away after awhile.
The service guy called back and said that they didn't hear it when they started up. He said it was probably the sound of the fuel injectors warming up and it was normal on a cold day. I pointed out to him that this was my second Nitro and I hadn't heard it on that one. He then asked me if it was also a 4.0 and I told him my first one was a 3.7. He then said the 4.0 is different and there was nothing to worry about.
So my question to anyone who has a 4.0 engine and lives in a cold area, have you heard anything similar to a clicking noise when you first warm up your Nitro? This dealership hasn't steered me wrong before, but I'm uneasy about the explanation I received.
